Its designer Juan Jose (Jon Josef) was born into a family that thrived during the paramount of the Spanish footwear industry embedded in their native region of Alicante. Jon was destined to become an influential shoe designer from childhood. As a toddler he started hanging out in his Dad’s shoe stores, and in his teens he spent summers in his family’s factory, immersing himself in every detail of the business from packing boxes to constructing shoe lasts and cutting leather by hand. At age 21, he came to America to play an integral role in his family’s company by marketing the family’s brand in the U.S.

As America fell in love with the family’s brand, Jon reciprocated, falling hard for the country, the culture and an American girl, Louisa. A true Cinderella story, they met on the showroom floor when she was modeling shoes. And their marriage landed Egido in the U.S. permanently where Louisa supports the Jon Josef brand by acting as its Marketing and Customer Service Manager.

Throughout his rich journey through the industry, Jon always noted the importance of creating shoes that made women feel good. This sentiment became the focal point of his brand’s development, both in style and comfort. Founded in 2007, his namesake collection achieves a level of craftsmanship, fit and comfort perfected throughout years of experience. Spain is a country that marries the two necessities required for impeccable footwear design and construction – a unique combination of rich materials and generations of perfected artistry in manufacturing. These make the backbone of his product and the legacy he strives to bring to women in America.

And today that legacy continues, bringing his brand closer to his customers with the recent launch of jonjosef.com, a presence on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter creating opportunities for unique connections between himself, his brand and his customers.
